A fast-paced half-court 3v3 tournament designed for university students and amateur players looking for competitive but enjoyable basketball.
This is a student-organised event focused on creating a high-energy, well-run tournament environment. Expect group stages, knockouts, a final, and a small cash prize for the winners.
Event Format:
• 12 teams max
• 3–4 players per team
• Group stage + knockout rounds
• FIBA-style 3v3 rules (adapted for event flow)
• £100 cash + trophy for winning team
The entry fee has been kept intentionally budget-friendly to ensure accessibility for students.

Tournament Participation Agreement (Required)
By booking and participating in this event, I confirm that:
☐ Age Requirement – I am 16 years of age or older. If I am under 18, I will submit a completed parent/guardian consent form before the event (https://forms.gle/47oVTDvbVSSh9fNn8).
☐ Acknowledgement of Risk – I understand that basketball is a physical sport which involves risk of injury. I participate voluntarily and at my own risk.
☐ Medical Responsibility – I confirm that I am physically fit to take part and have no medical condition that would make participation unsafe. If unsure, I will seek medical advice before attending.
☐ Personal Responsibility & Conduct – I agree to behave respectfully, follow event rules, and prioritise the safety of myself and others. Unsafe or inappropriate behaviour may result in removal from the event without refund.
☐ Personal Property – I understand that the organiser and venue are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings.
☐ Photography & Media – I understand that photos/videos may be taken for promotional use. If I do not wish to appear, I will notify the organiser on arrival.
☐ Refund Policy – I understand that entry fees are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled.

• 2:40 – 2:45 PM — 1v1 Player Selection: Announce 4 standout players.
• 2:45 – 2:55 PM — 1v1 Semifinal 1: First to 5 points (8-min cap).
• 2:55 – 3:05 PM — 1v1 Semifinal 2: First to 5 points.
• 3:05 – 3:15 PM — 1v1 Final: First to 5 points.
• 3:15 – 3:30 PM — Awards & Photos: Trophy + £100 cash, photos, thank players.
• 3:30 – 4:00 PM — Buffer / Overtime / Clear Up: Extra time in case games run over + pack down.
Format
• 3 players on court (max 1 substitute per team)
• 12 teams max
• Group stage → Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Final
• 8-minute running clock per game
• 2-minute turnover between games

Scoring
• 1 point for baskets inside the arc
• 2 points for baskets behind the arc
• First to 11 wins (if reached before time)
• If tied at the end → next basket wins

Gameplay Rules (FIBA-Style Flow)
• Check ball to start the game
• After every made basket, the opposing team takes the ball immediately (no check)
• After a defensive rebound or steal, the ball must be cleared beyond the arc before scoring
• Substitutions only on dead balls
• Ball must be checked at the top of the arc

Fouls
• All fouls are called by the referee
• If a foul occurs during a shot and the basket is made, the point counts and play continues
• If a foul occurs during a missed shot, the player receives 1 free throw
• If a foul occurs when the player is not shooting, possession goes to the fouled player’s team and play resumes with a check ball at the top of the arc
• Excessive or dangerous physicality may result in possession change or player removal at the organiser’s discretion

• Games start on schedule — late teams risk forfeit
• Respect referees/organisers and other players
• Competitive energy is welcome — unsportsmanlike behaviour isn’t tolerated
